On May 12th, something of an event in the Doctor Who world will be taken place at Big Finish headquarters-a plethora of Doctor Who regulars will be gathering together to record this year’s special subscription release The Five Companions.
Not only will Peter Davison and Sarah Sutton be there as the Fifth Doctor and Nyssa there will also be William Russell, Peter Purves, Jean Marsh and Anneke Wills reprising their roles as (respectively) Ian, Steven, Sara and Polly. Whilst you’re digesting that add into the mix the Daleks and the Sontarans and you’ve got one hell of a story!
The story, written by Eddie Robson, will see the Doctor come face to face with a fair few people from his past and sparks are bound to fly. In what will surely be a tender and emotional piece, this will mark the first occasion where all these companions and this particular Doctor have been grouped together and it’s sure to make quite an impact.
The cover is now available to view at Big Finish’s website and it’s quite a sight to see.
This release, like 2010’s The Four Doctors, will be free to Big Finish subscribers whose subscription includes the December 2011 release. However those that decide to take out a subscription after this particular release will be able to choose the story as their free CD.
